Description
A Cowper installation (blast preheating) is heated with blast furnace gas. To
compensate for the varying combustion properties of the blast furnace gas, which
is analyzed continuously, it is necessary to admix CO and/or natural gas. In
addition, the CO is also subject to variations. After taking all influencing
factors into account, the resulting gas mixture has a constant calorific value,
thus ensuring optimum heating and energy consumption, together with the lowest
possible emission of pollutants.
