K 2004: The world's largest plastics exhibition in Düsseldorf
PMA in Hall 10, Stand J 25 from 20th to 27th October 2004
"Innovations for the automation of plastics processing machines"

At the K 2004, the largest international plastics trade fair, PMA will be exhibiting
both established and innovative equipment for the automation of plastics processing
machines. Already in successful use since 1998, the 'touch' user interface and our
multi-controller systems have been upgraded with a range of novel features. All of
our products will be presented by means of specific customer Aplikacje.
Automation of extrusion plants:
- New: KS vario BT
Using the example of a pipe head heater, you can watch the modular, turnkey, multi-temperature control system KS vario BT in operation.
- New: varioECmini
This compact automation system will be demonstrated on a laboratory extruder.
- For complete extrusion plants, we will show the established P-open automation system.
Automation of blow-molding plants:
- A 'touch panel' PC is used to demonstrate the design of modern operator interfaces, using a particularly complex blow-molder as an example.
Automation of injection molders:
- New industrial PCs, with 'soft PLC' or hardware PLCs, as well as our highly modular multi-controllers show the different approaches for practice-oriented solutions offered by PMA for series and customized machines: from micro-injection to conventional molding, and from standard and multi-component machines up to the largest machines built by Ettlinger, in Königsbrunn.
Hot-runner control systems:
- As one of the pioneers of modular hot-runner control systems, PMA will exhibit novel solutions for plug-in, single-loop controllers and operating terminals, for example on the interesting special manifold of a 2-component machine.
Industrial image processing:
- Highly topical for many Aplikacje is the exceptional performance of the cost-effective, intelligent SmartVision camera systems. We will show an inspection system with an imaging sensor mounted on an articulated-arm robot, and integrated quality evaluation.
Production control console:
- Our co-exhibitor, Purfürst Engineering from Isernhagen, will be showing their MES system, with a focus on detailed planning.
